John M. Rickel is a licensed Certified Public Accountant, attorney and is a Chartered Financial Analyst. Mr. Rickel has over 35 years of experience in the public accounting profession. He served on the audit, consulting and tax staffs of a current Big 4 accounting firm prior to founding John M. Rickel, CPA, PC in 1987. He serves a variety of clients in diverse industries including healthcare, real estate, non profit, service organization and others. He specializes in business, estate, and individual tax planning and compliance, business consulting, audit and accounting services. He is a graduate of the University of Michigan, BA, 1960. He received his Juris Doctor from the University of Michigan in 1963 and his CPA designation from the State of Michigan in 1972.

Mr. Rickel is a current member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA) and the Michigan Association of Certified Public Accountants (MACPA). He is a former member of the MACPA board of directors and is current member of the 20 person ethics committee of the MACPA. He was an instructor for 3 years at Wayne State University law school and is currently an instructor for the MACPA’s Continuing Professional Education program.
